Brittany Roby of Twin Cedars and Steph Hayden from PCM top the list of local athletes named to the All-State softball teams by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association (IGCA).

Roby, a freshman outfielder for the Sabers; and Hayden, a senior infielder for the Mustangs, were named 1st Team All-State for Class 1-A and 2-A, respectively.

Roby and Hayden lead the pack of nine total softball players from local schools who were named to All-State squads; which also included Pella High outfielder Whitney Williams and pitcher Mandy DeMeulenaere as 2nd and 3rd Team selections, respectively, in Class 3-A.

All-State Honorable Mention for Class 1-A included Roby’s teammates at Twin Cedars – Alee Hugen (shortstop) and Brooke Dunkin (catcher) – as well as Lexi Crozier (pitcher) and Haylie Branson (outfielder) from Melcher-Dallas.

Pella Christian’s Paige Blom (pitcher) was named to the All-State Honorable Mention Team for Class 2-A.
