Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson says that he’s happy with how the severe weather season has gone in terms of emergency response. Anderson says that this year, there were more local fire departments and rescue crews already out patrolling when severe weather came, decreasing their response time to emergency situations like down trees and lightning strikes. He says that there are some in-house communication things that could use minor adjustment, but overall it’s been a very good summer in terms of severe weather response.
