The Knoxville City Council voted last week to continue with the Storm Sewer Replacement Project in Graceland Cemetery, despite the bid they approved of coming in $35,000 higher than they had originally budgeted. Knoxville City Manager Harold Stewart says part of the reason the bid was so high was that they are doing more work than they had originally anticipated when they made the budget. Stewart says the City does have money to cover the excess costs, as they have savings from other projects this year, as well as money set aside by the Council for unplanned projects. The Council meets in special session tonight at the Library at 5pm to discuss future Library plans.
