Not surprisingly with a weeks-long heat wave still being felt in the area, we broke a record yesterday. The official high temperature for August 2nd was 106 degrees and it was also the hottest day so far in 2011. The previous record was 102, set in 1947. The same time last year saw a cool 88 degrees for a high temperature.
