Facing a robust field of 4A schools wouldn’t make an already difficult start to the season any easier for the Pella volleyball team, as the Lady Dutch fell in straight sets in all four matches of a round-robin tournament Saturday morning at Iowa City High School.

Pella started off with the highest-ranked team in the field, taking on 4A No. 2 Iowa City High first, followed by 4A No. 3 Cedar Rapids Kennedy and 4A No. 14 Pleasant Valley, before finishing the day against North Scott.

The losses drop the Pella volleyball team to a seemingly unheard of 0-8 record to start the season.  The Lady Dutch have another tournament on the horizon, as they’ll spend the week in practice preparing for the Southeast Polk Invitational this coming Saturday.
