The Knoxville School Board has decided at a recent meeting that they will pay for the new auditorium project through a combination of sales tax funds and fundraising. Knoxville superintendent Dr. Randy Flack says that they hope the auditorium committee will develop a fundraising campaign to help offset some costs. Flack says the board believes it’s important to have some community buy-in to the project, as the auditorium will be used by the community as much as the school district. The board decided to forgo a general obligation bond vote to fund the project, citing the current economic climate.
