A rapid-fire first half propelled the Central College men’s soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Grinnell Wednesday Evening. The Dutch outshot the Pioneers 20-2 in the first half, netting both of their goals inside a four-minute window.

The win improves the Central men’s record to 6-4 overall. They’ll have another home match on Saturday, hosting the Coe soccer team Saturday afternoon at the Kuyper Athletics Complex soccer field. The Kohawks are 4-5-2 following a loss Wednesday night to Augustana College.

A line-up that featured four freshmen was simply too much for Simpson College to handle, as the Central College men’s tennis team defeated the Storm 8-1 Wednesday night.

Central set the tone early by sweeping the doubles portion of the contest, and nearly captured the shut-out, but fell in a tight match in No. 1 singles.

The meet was the second and final dual match of the non-traditional fall season for the Central men’s tennis team.
