Senior Brent Messmore snagged a share of fourth place and lifted the Central College White team to a third-place finish at the Clarke University men’s golf Fall Classic Monday. Central’s Red squad also cracked the top five, finishing fourth.

Competing at the par-71 Thunder Hills Country Club, the White team jumped three spots in the team standings from Sunday’s round and closed at 311-304—615. The Red squad followed closely at 310-306—616. St. Ambrose University won the 13-team tournament carding 298—286-584.

Messmore led the Dutch at 71-76—147. The Central men’s golf team returns to action Saturday and Sunday at the University of Dubuque Invitational at the Eagle Ridge Golf Resort in Galena, Ill.
