Riding high on the emotion of last Friday’s Homecoming win over Oskaloosa, the Pella football team has been working hard on the practice field this week to avoid a letdown in week five. The Little Dutch face Centerville on Friday, a team that has struggled in the last two years, after previously being one of the toughest teams in the state.

Pella head coach Jay McKinstrey says regardless of the opponent, his team needs to continue working toward becoming better.

“I feel like if you really are a good football team, you’re going to improve this week. It doesn’t matter who you’re playing,” says McKinstrey. “I think that’s going to be a real key for our team this week, is can we stay focused, can we do what it takes to improve, so that way we can play better than we did against Osky.”

Pella High takes a 3-1 overall record and a 2-0 mark in District 7 play on the road to Centerville on Friday night.
