Expect High Winds Today


The National Weather Service reports that a cold front will push southeast across Iowa today. Strong winds will accompany this front as it passes through the region. Wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph are possible, especially in open areas across the northern part of the state. Wind Advisories are in effect for much of the north, east and central portions of the state. No rain is expected with the frontal passage, but temperatures will cool off a few degrees with highs generally in the 60s on Friday and Saturday. Temperatures will rebound into the 70s for the beginning of next week.
