Knoxville City Council member Carolyn Formanek will be running for reelection this fall. Formanek was elected to fill a vacant seat in 2009. She says she wants to follow through on plans that she’s been a part of the past two years, particularly with Streetscape and housing projects. She adds that there are a lot of advantages that she wants to help the city take advantage of with the current repopulation of the VA Campus. Fellow Council member April Verwers has stated she intends to run for reelection, though she has not yet filed paperwork. Council member Bob Wims has yet to decide whether he will run this year.
