I sat down with a fresh cup of coffee across from Melcher-Dallas Superintendent of Schools Steve Mitchell, ready for the interview to begin. Before I could bring the coffee to my lips a second time, Steve stood up and said, “come on Bob–let’s take a walk–this isn’t about me.” So I stood up and followed as we wandered around speaking with enthusiastic kids and teachers who shared a love of learning.
