The City of Knoxville has announced that they have made plans for a 9/11 commemoration this year. The commemoration will take place on Sunday at Ken Locke Stadium. There will be remarks from local dignitaries, and Knoxville High School and Katie Davis will provide music. Knoxville Fire Chief Mike Roberts says that the “never forget” mantra is important, and he’d like to see a good crowd.

KNIA/KRLS will have a minute of silence at noon on Sunday in partnership with broadcasters across the nation. This will be the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.
