Knoxville swept the individual titles at the PCM Cross Country Invitational yesterday at Gateway Golf Course in Monroe.
Wick Cunningham ran away with the boy’s race leading from start to finish, as the Panthers placed third in the team standings, behind Ballard and Centerville. On the girls’ side, Alissa Van Klootwyk started slow, according to head coach Mike Moats, but recovered to win her first meet of the season. The Knoxville girls finished in sixth place in the team standings.
Pella Christian head coach Jocelyn Meinders tells KNIA/KRLS Sports she was pleased with the way her athletes attacked the hills on the course and how they finished. The Eagles were led by a pair of 25th place finishes from Jake Lensing and Sarah Brandsen, as the boys’ squad took seventh place, and the Pella Christian girls placed eighth.
Twin Cedars also participated and the girls were led by Brittany Roby with a 19th place finish while Eric Clark led the Saber boys with a 37th place finish, as Twin Cedars took ninth place in the team standings.
