While the offense for the Melcher-Dallas Football Squad has got most of the headlines this season, the Saints would not be 5-0 right now without a solid defense to go with the offense. Ross Dawson is the leading tackler for the Saints with 65 tackles and 42 solo he also has seven sacks this season and has a good nose for the ball as he has picked up two fumble recoveries. Along with Dawson, Kenneth Wadle has become a thief in the secondary with four interceptions. Coach Ryan Conrad was happy with the way the defense played in the Saints’ win over Tri-County on Friday. Melcher-Dallas travels to Harmony this Friday to continue District Five play.
