Knoxville Police Lieutenant Darrel Brown says that seatbelt usage was at 100% in a recent survey of vehicles driving through Knoxville. Brown says that during the survey, 100 vehicles were observed, and in every case, drivers and front seat passengers were wearing their seatbelts. The surveys were conducted in part of a project with the Iowa Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau. Brown says the results are a good sign that people are obeying the seatbelt laws, and officers appreciate this. Brown reminds drivers that all occupants of vehicles under 18 must wear seatbelts.
