Thunderstorms Keep Area Cross Country Teams Out of Competition…Again
Posted By sports On September 5, 2011 @ 6:00 am In Today’s Local Sports | Comments Disabled
For the second time in less than a week, adverse weather conditions prevented our local cross country squads from competing. Storms that featured lightning and heavy rain rolled through Marion County late Saturday morning, forcing organizers to suspend – and ultimately cancel – the Pella Invitational.
Teams that were to compete included Pella, Pella Christian, Knoxville, PCM and Twin Cedars; along with a number of top-tier programs from all over Iowa.
All of the aforementioned programs, with the exception of Twin Cedars, are hoping to final begin competition on Tuesday, when they’ll run at the Grinnell Invitational.
