For the third time in her high school career Knoxville Cross Country Runner Alissa Van Klootwyk will run at the State Meet in Fort Dodge this Saturday. Van Klootwyk qualified last week in the Regional with a fifth place finish. Coach Mike Moats says Van Klootwyk has a goal of a top 25 finish at state. He ads while her times have not reflected Van Klootwyk’s efforts this season as a top 25 runner, he thinks a top 25 is not out of reach. Moats says Van Klootwyk used a different strategy last Thursday at the Regional to position herself in the top five. He says if she can get out of the pack at the first turn Saturday, she has a great chance to get to her goal of a top 25. The Knoxville boys also will run at state as a team.
