The Central College football team aims to rebound from a deflating loss last weekend at Dubuque with a contest against Coe College for Central’s Homecoming game this afternoon.

The Dutch are 2-2 overall and 1-1 in league play following last week’s uncharacteristic 56-28 loss to the Spartans. Coe is also 2-2 overall, but 2-0 in the Iowa Conference after toppling No. 10-ranked Wartburg College 27-24 last Saturday.

The game will also feature the newest inductees into the Central College Athletics Hall of Honor during halftime of the football game. This year’s honorees include former fullback Rich Kacmarynski, who is now the head football coach at Pella Christian High School. He says being included among the other former greats at Central College is an honor that is hard to put into words. Kacmarynski is joined in this year’s class by women’s tennis competitor Shannan Mattiace and football and track and field standout Kevin Sanger.

Coverage of the football game will be broadcast live on 92.1 fm KRLS and streamed live at kniakrls.com with Eric Gotschall providing the play-by-play, beginning at 12:45. Kickoff between Central and Coe is set for 1:00 this afternoon at Ron and Joyce Schipper Stadium in Pella.
