A 23rd-place finish out of 47 teams at the highly-competitive Wisconsin-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational last weekend seems to have hurt the Central College men’s cross country team from a rankings standpoint, as the Dutch dropped in the latest Division III regional rankings.
Central is down three spots in the Central Region rankings this week to No. 10, after holding the No. 7 spot for the previous two weeks. The Regional rankings – released by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association – also has a new No. 1 team, as Nebraska Wesleyan ended Hamline’s five-week run at the top of the poll. Iowa Conference rival Loras is No. 4 while Luther is No. 5 and Wartburg is No. 7.
The Central men’s cross country team is off this weekend and will compete at the Iowa Conference championship October 29 in Decorah.
