The start of the national nominating process for the GOP is still up in the air, as several states continue to jockey for position. Iowa’s tentative date is January 3rd, though that could change depending on what the first primary state, New Hampshire, decides. Irene Blom, Chair of the Marion County Republicans says she’d like to see Iowa retain its First-in-the-Nation status, though moving even closer to the holidays would leave less time for everyone to prepare, including local party organizers and the candidates themselves.
