Knoxville won a marathon five set volleyball match last night over Pella as the Panthers took the match by scores of 25/27, 25/23, 18/25, 29/27, and 15/ten. Knoxville was down in the fifth set seven-to-four when the Panthers called for time out and proceeded to outscore Pella 11-to-three the rest of the way.

Knoxville Coach Eric Fee has wanted his team to finish or what he refers to terminate points or sets. He said last night for the most part was a job well done.

On the other side of the bench…Pella Coach Bob Fessler the inability to close out the match and allowing Knoxville back in it was tough to take.

Chambray Daugherty led the team in kills with 23 while Katie Cunningham was perfect in serving with 20-for-20 and four aces while Katie’s younger sister Meredith dealt out 44 assists.

Shannon Ewing led Pella in kills with 18, Morgan Ernst dished out 22 assists, and Katie Sunderman was 24-for-24 from the service line. Defensively, the Lady Dutch were led by Taelor Rempe’s 25 digs and three blocks from Carrie Vandehaar.

Knoxville improves to 16-and-19 on the season and finishes Little Hawkeye Conference play at three-and-three finishing in fourth place, while Pella closes out the regular season with a 10-24 overall mark and a 1-5 finish in league play.
