The volleyball teams from Pella High and Knoxville finished in the middle of the field at Saturday’s Pella High Invitational.

The Lady Dutch finished the day with a 3-2 record, claiming 2-0 victories over North Mahaska (21-19, 21-16), Knoxville (21-18, 21-14), and PCM (21-12, 23-21); while falling in straight sets to Jefferson-Scranton (20-22, 21-23) and Mediapolis (21-14, 21-8). The Lady Dutch finished in third place – behind Mediapolis and Jefferson-Scranton – and just in front of fourth-place Knoxville.

Pella is now 8-16 overall and will return to Little Hawkeye Conference play on Thursday when they host Norwalk.  Head Coach Bob Fessler says the team is hopeful that the final home game of the season for the Lady Dutch will be played on the newly completed floor in Pella High’s East Gymnasium.
