There are no long-term concerns about contamination of the pond at Pine Knolls Country Club after an SUV drove into it Wednesday morning during a high speed chase. Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson says a lot of help and a favorable wind direction made the difference. Wind blew the fuel that had leaked from the SUV to the side of the pond opposite of where it would spill out into a creek. Anderson says that it has been contained to that side. In a couple of days, the booms absorbing the fuel will be pulled out, and it will be monitored from there.
