Temperatures in the 70’s and 80’s are long gone and a frost warning has been issued for Marion County, it’s time to prepare lawns for winter. Kevin Vos, Course Superintendent at Bos Landen, says the work to be done now is all about getting grass a head start for the spring. He says now is a good time to aerate lawns, apply fertilizer and give them plenty of water. He says in the fall, just as the rest of the year, the grass needs to be watered deeply and thoroughly in order to promote a solid root structure.
