A Pella teacher was recognized for her efforts Friday in Des Moines at The Iowa Recognition Luncheon for Outstanding Teachers. Lisa Jaarsma Zylstra, who teaches 5th grade at Jefferson Intermediate has been named the Iowa Preserve America History Teacher of the Year. Zylstra was one of just 13 teachers from across Iowa who received an award at the luncheon.
