Sophomore guard Annie Sarcone drained a clutch three-pointer to send the Central College women’s basketball team into over time, but the Dutch couldn’t carry the momentum any further than that, as Monmouth handed them a 72-69 loss last night in Pella. The setback was the first this season for the Central women, who started off with back-to-back wins.
Sarcone posted a career-high, as she and forward AJ Baker each put up 16 points for the Dutch. Nicole Strasko tallied 13 points, and Sarah Paulson notched a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Now 2-1, Central is off for the Thanksgiving holiday, returning to face Knox College on November 28th in Illinois.
