With the end of the year upcoming, there will be some vacancies on county boards and commissions appointed by the Marion County Board of Supervisors. Due to a new Iowa law, the Board must attempt to fill these vacancies in a way that makes the boards as gender-neutral as possible. Board Chairman Sam Nichols says that the Board of Supervisors is encouraging everyone to look over what boards will have vacancies. He hopes citizens will consider applying to one or two of the commissions.
