One-upping their total from last year, the Central College fall athletic programs have landed 42 student-athletes on the Academic All-Iowa Conference Team. Among this fall’s headliners are three-time conference MVP and Women’s Golfer of the Year Sarah Paulson and Jeremy Snead, a three-time league selection as a receiver in football.
A number of local names also made the list, including golfer Kaurie Kincaid of Knoxville; football player Cory Nikkel of Pella Christian; and women’s soccer players Alex Kleis and Kelsey Schippers, and volleyball player Chelsea Grieger – all of Pella High. Grieger is also a three-time All-Conference libero who broke three school records this season.
To qualify for the Academic All-Iowa Conference Team, a student athlete must be at least a sophomore, compete at the Varsity level, and hold a 3.5 or better cumulative grade point average. Central had 41 student-athletes on last year’s fall team.
