The Class 3A State Football Championships kick off this afternoon in Cedar Falls; and while the Pella High football team is not one of the teams in contention for the title, there will still be representation from the Tulip City on the field.

Myron Linn, a veteran official for high school and Division III football, is part of the crew that will be officiating today’s contest between Union and Decorah.

“It’s exciting to be a part of a season-ending game where there’s a champion from that particular class that will result from it,” says Linn. “I know that the rest of the crew members and I are eager to be there and be part of that event.”

Linn is not the only member of the crew from Pella, as former Central College women’s basketball coach Jerry Nikkel also dons the black and white stripes for the same officiating unit.
