Though they were unable to come away with the victory, the Pella High girls basketball team put together a complete performance last night, pushing Ballard all the way to the end in a 46-43 loss for the Lady Dutch.
Pella showed great resilience, particularly in the second half, as they rallied from a twelve-point deficit in the third quarter to pull within one point. Forward Reagan Cooper finished with a team-high 18 points, and guard Bailey Vande Weerd was close behind with 15 points.
Lady Dutch head coach Jerod Garland said he was very pleased with how hard the team worked all throughout the game, particularly on defense; adding that they were a few makes from the field and at the free throw line away from a victory.
The Pella girls basketball team is off through the Thanksgiving holiday, before returning to competition Monday night for their home opener on the new gym floor against Williamsburg.
