The 2011 season will be the final one for Pella High head volleyball coach Bob Fessler, who informed his players at the end of the season that he would not return next fall as head coach of the Lady Dutch.

Fessler tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that a desire to spend more time with his children, who are each involved in collegiate athletics, played a strong role in his decision to step away from the position. This season Pella High went 10-25, helping Fessler reach his 400th career victory along the way. This was his ninth season as head coach of the Lady Dutch.

Prior to his time in Pella, Fessler coached at Walnut Ridge Academy in Waterloo. Fessler will still remain active in high school volleyball, though, as Iowa Girls Coaches Association President and Volleyball Chairman.
