Though forward Dustin Richards will be greatly missed this season, the Twin Cedars boys basketball team has a lot to be excited and optimistic about this upcoming season. The Sabres were incredibly young last year, putting a number of freshmen and sophomores out on the floor.

Having nearly the entire team from a season ago back was enough to have head coach Alan Stewart excited about the season, but he says it’s been the positive attitude and passion for the game that his players have brought to practice in the past two weeks that really has him rejuvenated for a solid run this winter.

“I just love that when these kids come to practice, they want to be there. There’s nobody hanging their head, there’s no one complaining, they just want to be on the floor playing basketball and they love to compete,” says Stewart.

“I’m excited about that – it makes me feel young. They’re just a great bunch of young individuals that I like coaching.”

The Twin Cedars boys basketball team is aiming to build on a 5-16 overall record from last season, and will begin their journey on Tuesday night in a home game against Wayne.
