IN THE PAST TWENTY-FOUR HOURS THE MARION COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES RESPONDED TO THIRTY-THREE CALLS FOR SERVICE INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, TEN EXTRA PATROLS, TWO PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENTS, THREE DOGS AT LARGE, ONE JUVENILE, ONE FOUND PROPERTY, TWO RECKLESS DRIVERS, ONE VEHICLE UNLOCK, ONE SUSPICOUS VEHICLE, ONE FRAUD REPORT, ONE INCOMPLETE 911 CALL, ONE REPORT OF SHOTS HEARD, FIVE ATTEMPTS AT PAPER SERVICE, ONE VEHICLE ESCORT, ASSISTED AN OUTSIDE AGENCY AND RETURNED TWO PHONE CALLS.
THE MARION COUNTY JAIL IS CURRENTLY HOLDING TWENTY-ONE SUBJECTS.
IN THE PAST TWENTY-FOUR HOURS NOBODY WAS BOOKED INTO THE MARION COUNTY JAIL.
AS WITH ANY CRIMINAL CASE, A CHARGE IS MERELY AN ACCUSATION AND A DEFENDANT IS PRESUMED INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY

There are no funeral services planned for Mervin Schaffer, age 78, of Lacona. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Animal Rescue League or Humane Society. Pierschbacher Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
