Holiday parties, family feasts and a bevy of live sports on television tend to make this time of year a difficult time to get in better shape physically, but that’s exactly what the members of the Pella Christian girls basketball team will be keying on in the coming days.
“We’re going to concentrate on getting them in better shape. I think we’re getting there, compared with where we were at in the first game of the year, but that’s something we’ve really got to focus on now because there aren’t a lot of breaks in January,” said Pella Christian girls basketball coach Kevin Van Maanen. “We’ve got to be ready to go and fresh; and try to stay healthy and injury-free.”
The Pella Christian girls entered the holiday break on a five-game win streak, and are 2-0 in the Little Hawkeye Conference.
