Though the Republican Party may be getting all the attention, it’s vital that Democrats come out to caucus next Tuesday, too. Marion County Iowa Democrats Chairwoman Anita Martin says that though President Barack Obama faces no opposition for the Democratic Party nomination, there are still many very important decisions that need to be made. She notes that the caucus is where platforms are formed at the most local level, and it’s the perfect place to make sure your voice is heard and counted. Those platforms are then taken to the county, district, and eventually the state conventions.

The Iowa Caucuses are on January 3rd. KNIA/KRLS will have live coverage.

Republicans south of the river in Marion County will caucus at Knoxville High School. Republicans north of the river will caucus at Pella Christian High School.

Democrats north of the river will caucus at Lincoln Elementary School in Pella. Those south of the river will caucus at Knoxville Middle School.
