Though an 0-8 start is not what Melcher-Dallas head coach Jim Wells had hoped to see through the first portion of the basketball season, he’s still encouraged by what his team has the potential to do when they return to the floor in January.

Wells says while his team has been depleted by injuries, he hopes the return of players like Kenneth Wadle, and the team’s overall effort will translate to wins in the 2012 portion of the schedule.

Wadle returned Tuesday night from a bone chip injury to lead the Saints with 18 points.  He averaged 14 points a game for Melcher-Dallas a season ago.
