On Friday there will be a blood drive to honor Megan Hoogeveen. Megan was a Pella teenager who died of a rare blood disorder in June. The blood drive is seeking to collect over 120 units of blood, which is a little over half of what Megan received while in the hospital. The drive is scheduled to coincide with what would have been Megan’s 19th birthday. The effort will run from 2:00 until 7:30 on Friday at the Vermeer Global Pavilion. Appointments for the blood drive are encouraged, to make an appointment call 1-800-287-4903.
