The Melcher-Dallas girls basketball team is off to a good start to the season in Bluegrass Conference play, and head coach Jon Suntken thinks the Saints have the talent and ability to make a run at the league title.
It’s not entirely up to how well the Melcher-Dallas girls can play, though, as Suntken says a loss earlier this season to Moulton-Udell means that his squad will need some help from another league opponent.
“My challenge to the girls is to win out. If we win out and hope that somebody knocks off Moulton-Udell – which I think Twin Cedars is very capable of doing that – we could get a shot at the conference [title] when you look at the long term,” said Suntken. “We let somebody else control our destiny by not playing very well against Moulton-Udell and now hopefully someone can knock them off and we can win out.”
The Melcher-Dallas girls basketball team sits at 4-5 overall during the holiday break.
