Buying prescription medication online has been a growing trend recently, but the safety and legality of such online pharmacies is still questionable. According to Pella Crown Pharmacy owner Don Versluys there is a significantly larger risk of getting counterfeit medication when purchasing online, as many online operations are outside the scope of federal and state regulation. According to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy in an inspection of over 8,000 websites selling prescription drugs, only 4% of those businesses were legal operations.
