IN THE PAST TWENTY FOUR HOURS THE MARION COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES RESPONDED TO TWENTY EIGHT CALLS FOR SERVICE, including but not limited to SEVEN EXTRA PATROL REQUESTS, SIX PAPER SERVICE ATTEMPTS, TWO DISPUTES, TWO REPORTS OF THEFT, TWO SUSPICIOUS VEHICLES, ONE REQUEST FOR A SALVAGE TAG, ONE RETURN PHONE CALL, ONE CIVIL ISSUE, ONE VEHICLE UNLOCK, ONE AGENCY ASSIST, ONE TRANSPORT, ONE SUSPICIOUS PERSON, ONE REPORT OF A RECKLESS DRIVER, and ONE REPORT OF HARASSMENT.
THE MARION COUNTY JAIL IS CURRENTLY HOLDING TWENTY SUBJECTS.
IN THE PAST TWENTY FOUR HOURS ONE SUBJECT WAS BOOKED INTO THE MARION COUNTY JAIL;
David Allen Brommel was arrested on an arrest warrant.

Since dropping their first two games of the season against very strong non-conference competition, the Pella High girls basketball team has rattled off five straight victories – most recently a 61-28 throttling of Newton last Tuesday.

The Central College women’s basketball team plays the first of a pair of games in Florida today, as the Dutch take on Trine University in the Land of Magic Classic. Central is 4-5 overall, while Trine is 6-3. The Dutch continue competition in Daytona Beach tomorrow with a match-up against Clark University; then return to Pella to prepare for their return to Iowa Conference play on January 4th.
