After shaking off some of the rust from an eleven-day layoff with a sturdy 50-point win over Knoxville Tuesday night, the Pella Christian girls basketball team tries to pick up its second Little Hawkeye Conference basketball win of the season Friday night, when they travel to Grinnell.
Lady Eagles’ head coach Kevin Van Maanen says he likes the way his defense has been playing in practice, and hopes the offense is close behind.

“The [work] on the offense is just more getting in games and getting our timing down. I thought we were a little shaky from the three-point line. We had a lot of good looks, we just didn’t make them,” said Van Maanen.

“I think we just need to get ourselves set and into a game rhythm. I’m not worried about that; I think that’ll come next game.”

The Pella Christian girls are 3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
