Last night the Pella City Council met in regular session. Before the meeting started, the new Mayor and Pella City Council members were sworn in. The city council read several zoning changes for lots near the Vermeer Plant for the third time before approving the measures. The council also amended the budget going into the new year to reflect some fiscal changes over the last year, and approved moving the regularly scheduled January 3rd meeting to January 4th so as not to conflict with the Iowa Caucuses. At the end of the meeting the council issued proclamations thanking the two board members leaving office this year Tony Bokhoven and Rich Savery, and Mayor Darrell Doberneker for their service to the city. The new council members and mayor will take office in January.
