The Pella High girls basketball team earned its first win of the season on Saturday, downing Mount Pleasant 64-50 in Pella. The Lady Dutch shot 50 percent from the floor, and had five players score 8 points or more in the winning effort.

Bailey Vande Weerd’s 16 points led the Pella offense, but she also snagged 5 steals as a leader on the defensive side as well. Regan Cooper had yet another double-double, with 12 points and 14 rebounds; and Katie Sunderman chipped in 12 points as well.

The Pella girls are now 1-2 on the season and travel to Norwalk tomorrow night for the first Little Hawkeye Conference game of the season.
