The Pleasantville girls never overcame an early lead to Interstate-35, falling 54-47 last night at home; while the Trojan boys turned a powerful second half into a 64-45 win over the Roadrunners to remain unbeaten.

In the girls’ contest, Kennedy Core put up 13 points, while the Pleasantville defense held Interstate-35 standout Olivia Sulentic to 20 points – four points below her season average.  However, second half fouls by the Trojans gave the roadrunners a number of easy points at the free-throw line to keep them out in front for good.

The seven-point loss drops the Trojans to 1-6 on the season and 1-5 in The Pride Of Iowa Conference play.

In the boys contest, the combination of another dual 23-point effort from Collin Thomas and Hunter Van Haalen was enough to outshine a 30-point effort by I-35’s Brody Bromlee; and lead Pleasantville to a 64-45 win.

The Pleasantville boys are now 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the pride of Iowa Conference.  Both Pleasantville basketball teams make the long trek to Bedford on Friday.
