Twin Cedars junior Alee Hugen is averaging a double-double in points and rebounds this season, and is a big reason the Sabers are off to a 3-0 start to the year.

In a win this Monday over Davis County, Hugen poured in 19 points and pulled town 10 rebounds, and Twin Cedars girls head coach Justin Nolte says the team will need to continue to see Hugen perform well; along with some help from his perimeter players.

“We’re going to need of those points from her, and we’re expecting Ayla Crosby and Brittney Roby to shoot the ball well for us too. We’re going to need those points from them, as well as Payton Fee,” says Nolte. “We need some three pointers to help open it up for Alee [Hugen] in the middle a little bit.”

The Sabers got exactly that on Monday night, as Brittney Roby stepped up to knock down 3-of-4 three-pointers on her way to a 25-point night.

The Twin Cedars girls resume Bluegrass Conference play Friday night with a home game against Diagonal.
