Now winners of seven straight games, the PCM boys basketball team seems to be showing flashes of the type of play that earned the Mustangs a trip to the Class 2A State Semifinals a season ago. Helping the team surge forward has been improved shooting from the perimeter by the PCM backcourt – particularly Nate VandeWall and Sean O’Connor.

Mustangs’ head coach Fred Lorensen says with many teams focusing defensively on Scott Bruxvoort and Jordan Van Roekel, it’s been a positive to see VandeWall and O’Connor gain confidence in finding their own shots. The PCM boys are 11-2 overall after defeating Jefferson-Scranton Tuesday night, and will face South Hamilton on Friday.
