Knoxville’s bowlers came just 40 pins away from a sweep in Newton yesterday, as the Panthers took first place on the boys’ side and the came in just behind Newton in Little Hawkeye Conference bowling.  

Knoxville’s cumulative score of 2,688 was 133 pins better than Pella Christian in the boys’ contest.  The Eagles were 35 pins in front of host Newton; and Norwalk and Oskaloosa took fourth and fifth, respectively.  

The Knoxville girls, meanwhile, knocked over 2,342 pins on the afternoon to claim second place, while Pella Christian finished fifth with 1,819.  

Next, the circuit makes a stop in Knoxville at Fairlane Bowl this coming Saturday.
