12 faculty and staff members of the Knoxville School District took advantage of a retirement incentive program and will be retiring from their positions at the end of the school year. Knoxville Schools Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack says it’s very tough to see such quality people go and their experience and skills will be missed. He says they’ve done a great service dedicating their life to educating children. Dr. Flack comments that three positions will not be re-filled at the Middle School, and elementary art will become a part-time position. Overall, the incentive program will save the district about $435,000.
