The Knoxville Morning Kiwanis Club has a big goal – put a new, handicapped-accessible playground in Young’s Park. The Morning Kiwanis Club presented their idea during a joint meeting of the Parks Commission and the City Council last week. Knoxville City Manager Harold Stewart says that the project is something that could become a great asset to the city if the community gets behind it. Ernie Smith with the Morning Kiwanis Club says the project would be phased in as funds become available. He says a fundraising kickoff event is being planned for next month.
